Amateur Radio Pre-Estate Sale
This site is exactly like a hamfest, except that, you did not get up at dawn, you haven’t driven 200 miles and, I suspect that your restroom is cleaner.
I will entertain all offers and perhaps consider some very limited trades. Obviously,a guy who is hosting his own estate sale does not need your non-working R-390 (sadly I have one of my own … and yes, I am open to offers).
If I were dead, you wouldn’t ask my widow for your money back, so … in general, returns are not accepted.
My Contact Data: ltwn.klc@gmail.com. If you think that we need to talk on the phone, drop me an email and I will send you my number.
Now, let’s get started. I will add items as I have time, there are hundreds of them:
70 Foot of Rohn 25 Tower
70 feet of R-25 tower with a single guy bracket. No joint bolts or base plate. Many other tower parts available. Asking $550 picked up in Southern Maryland.
LinkRF IQ* EME Dual Channel Receiver
I purchased this device with visions of adding adaptive polarization to a proposed EME array. Life got in the way and the array never happened. I have never powered it on. I am asking $425 + shipping (with insurance). Thank you for your interest.
Dell Inspiron Computer
This is a near new, but very slow, Dell Inspiron Computer (Used seriously for just one week)
I bought this computer new from Dell. It was primarily used to support exam study software and a single trip to Newfoundland, Canada (February 2018). I haven’t even cleaned the Dell installed junk out of the start menu. This item is in very good (but not mint) condition. That is because its single one week mission involved being “hand carried” through airport terminals, transported in overhead bins, etc. The computer is running Windows 10 Home, with updates through January 23.
This machine’s N3060 CPU dictates that it is going to be slow (1.6G processor speed). It is also hindered by its 4G of RAM. The 465G (usable) HHD is of decent size and has relatively few operating hours. Addition of a solid state drive would enhance this computer tremendously. Four more Gigabytes of DDR3 would help too. Like most of us, you may have those items lying around.
If you can use a slower computer with “like new” reliability, then this one might work for you. For instance, It does have an HDMI output, so it would do fine as an largely “expendable” slideshow host. The internal battery also appears to be good.
Update: while removing my files from this computer, I discovered that it has both an optical drive and a built in camera. I checked the camera and the image that it produces is decent.
For the Dell Inspiron Laptop, I am asking $45.00 + shipping
Drake MN-4 tuner (Very Good)
This is a one owner 200 Watt tuner. It was designed to touch up the SWR on a single coax fed antenna. It also provides for connecting the rig to a dummy load, or a second (untuned) antenna. This one comes from the estate of Eddie Wiewara of Alexandria. Eddie was an electrical engineer at the National Bureau of Standards (now NIST). He was a “late in life” amateur who chose the Drake R-4 / T-4 line of equipment. Eddie’s transmitter only delivered 120 watts and he had no amplifier, therefore, this unit has not been exposed to power levels beyond its rating. Only a couple of very minor cosmetic flaws. Asking $100 Plus shipping.
